Phil Thompson
Phil Thompson is originally from a farm near Litchville ND, located in SE North Dakota. He is married to Gloria and they have two grown children and two grandchildren. He graduated from NDSU in 1970 with a BS degree in Agricultural Economics and enlisted in the Air Force where he was an electronics instructor until 1974. After his discharge he worked for Production Credit Association (Ag Country) in various capacities until 1989. He founded Phil Thompson and Associates, to provide risk management and financially related services to the individuals and businesses in the Warren and surrounding area. Phil is a Bookkeeper, Insurance Agent, Estate, Business and Individual Tax Preparer and Financial Consultant.
Lynn Sundby
Lynn was raised in Argyle, graduated from AHS and attended UMC Crookston. He has worked as a Farmer, Crop Adjustor and restaurant owner for 10 years. He joined Phil Thompson and Associates in January 1993 as an Insurance Agent. He and his wife Pam live in Argyle and have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.
Don Magnusson
Don grew up on a farm in the Argyle area. He graduated from Concordia College with a BA degree in Accounting. After college he worked for 2 years auditing oil and gas companies in Denver CO. He moved back to MN to be involved in the family farm and is still involved today. Don worked for 10 years for Farm Credit Services (Ag Country) doing tax and account work before starting with Phil Thompson and Associates in 2000. He is a Farm, Individual, Business and Estate Tax Preparer and Bookkeeper in the Warren office.
Lori Keller
Lori graduated in 2003 from BSU Bemidji with a BS degree in Finance and obtained her CPA Licensure in 2007. Lori joined Phil Thompson and Associates in November 2011. She works in both the Crookston and Warren offices and specializes in Farm, Business and Estate Taxes.
Chad Swanson
Chad lives in Argyle where he was raised and graduated from AHS. He attended UND, NDSU and owned and operated a gravel business for 4 years. He worked as an Insurance Adjustor for 9 years before joining Phil Thompson and Associates in 2010. Chad is married to Tina and they have 3 children. He works as an Insurance Agent in the Warren Office.
Lindsey Buegler
Lindsey graduated from U of M Crookston with a BS degree in Accountancy and is a licensed CPA. She started her Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation career in 2012 at Kays, Benton, Safranski & Co LLP before coming to Phil Thompson and Associates in 2014. She grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and moved to Warren when she married her husband Justin. They are active in the Warren community and have 2 children.
Katie Holte
Katie graduated from WAO HS and MSU Moorhead with a BS degree in Accounting. She worked for 5 years as an Accountant for American Woods Mfg and 3 years for H&R Block as a Tax Preparer. In 2009, she joined Phil Thompson and Associates in the Warren office as a Tax Preparer and Bookkeeper. She and her husband Sam live in the Alvarado area along with their 4 children.
Jesse Sundby
Jesse was raised in Argyle and graduated from S/A Central. He obtained a BS degree in Business Administration (Management and Small Business/Entrepreneurship emphasis) from BSU Bemidji in 2011. Following graduation, he worked as a Crop Adjustor for two years with Pro-Ag. He joined Phil Thompson and Associates in 2013 as an Insurance Agent in the Warren office. He and his wife Kathryn have 2 children.
Paula Anderson
Paula graduated from S/A Central HS and Josef’s School, Grand Forks. She started working for Phil Thompson and Associates in 2000 as a Payroll Specialist and Bookkeeper. Paula and her husband Ryan live in Argyle with their 3 children. She works in the Warren office
Nick Calder
Nick grew up in the Salol MN area and graduated from Warroad HS. In 2016, He graduated from UND Grand Forks with a BS Degree in Accounting and received his CPA license in 2017. Nick worked for a CPA firm in the area for a year and started working at Phil Thompson and Associates in 2018. He works in the Warren office as a Tax Preparer and Bookkeeper. During the summer, he is a farmer and works for Calder Drilling Company.
Jenna Grabowska
Jenna grew up in Argyle and graduated from S/A Central. In 2006, she graduated from Aaker Business College with an AA degree as an Executive Administrative Assistant (Legal Emphasis). Her prior work experience was at Anderson & Fercho, PLCC, and Northland Community & Technical College. In 2012 Jenna joined Phil Thompson and Associates as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Office Manager. Jenna and her husband Dustin have 3 children.
Erik Griffin
Erik is originally from Duncan OK and graduated from Comanche OK HS in 2003. In 2011 he moved to Crookston MN where he had firsthand experience working with agriculture at Mid Valley Grain and C&D Reitmeier Farms. He was an insurance agent for a time with Farm Bureau Financial Services. In 2013, he joined Phil Thompson and Associates as an Insurance Agent in the Crookston Office. Erik and his wife Kristi have 2 children.
Laura Bisenius
Laura Bisenius is originally from Langdon ND. She and her husband Mike (also a Langdon native) have four grown children and four grandchildren. Laura graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Accountancy. She worked in Grand Forks in public accounting for 20 years, then spent three years in private industry before joining Phil Thompson and Associates’ East Grand Forks office in January 2021.
Lee Hendrickson
Lee graduated from WHS. He went back to college and graduated in 2007 with an AA degree in Accounting from Northland Community and Technical College EGF. He has worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk for a small business and as a Bookkeeper and Tax Preparer for a CPA Firm. In 2011 he joined Phil Thompson and Associates as a Bookkeeper and Tax Preparer and works in the EGF office. He and his wife Lorette have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
Kenton McGregor
Kenton has more than 30 years of experience in the field of taxation. After graduating from UND he received his CPA license. Kenton served in the US Army for 2 year, including a year tour in Vietnam. He returned to UND for graduate school and taught several courses in accounting. He has served present and past on several Board of Directors including the Greater G F Senior Center, GF Senior Center Foundation, Delta Tau Delta House Corporation, Sunshine Memorial Foundation and the South Forks Lions. He has four grown sons and resides in Grand Forks with his wife Marilyn. He joined Phil Thompson and Associates in January 2016 and works in the EGF office.
Taylor Mortimer
Taylor grew up in Warren and graduated from WAOHS. She has a BS degree in Accounting and Management from UND. She worked in retail sales as a student at a local business. Taylor started working at Phil Thompson and Associates as an intern in 2016 and has continued as a Bookkeeper and Tax Preparer after obtaining her degree in 2020. She works in the EGF and Warren offices.
Bruce Nelson
Bruce is originally from Warren where he graduated from WHS. He continued his education at NDSU and received a BS degree in Agricultural Economics. In 2016, he joined Phil Thompson and Associates as an Insurance Agent in the Crookston office. His work experience includes over 29 years as the County Executive director for the W Polk County Farm Service Agency. Bruce lives on Union Lake, Erskine and operates Northern Lights Retrievers, a dog breeding business.
Bonnie Paul
Bonnie is from the Crookston area. She completed Continuing Education in Tax Preparation and has been a preparer since 1996. Bonnie worked for H & R Block for 8 years as a Tax Preparer. She joined Phil Thompson and Associates in 2016 and works at the Warren and Crookston Offices. She and her husband David have 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.
Shelby Durand
Shelby grew up in Warren and graduated from WAO High School. She is attending UND. She started working as an intern at Phil Thompson and Associates in the fall of 2020.
Gloria Thompson
Gloria grew up on a farm in the Cooperstown ND area. She is a VCSU graduate with a BS degree in Elementary Education. Gloria taught school in Central Cass Casselton ND, St Martins E. Biloxi MS, Warren School District MN and Valley North Alvarado MN. She joined Phil Thompson and Associates as Office Manager in 1989. She is married to Phil and they have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
Robyn Widner
Robyn is originally from Turtle Lake ND where she graduated from HS. She received a BS degree in Accounting in 2003 from NDSU. Robyn worked in the accounting field at an area business and CPA firm for 5 years before joining Phil Thompson and Associates in 2016. She is employed as a Payroll Specialist and Bookkeeper in the Warren office. Robyn and her husband Tom have four children and live on a farm in the Stephen area.
Cortney Thompson
Cortney grew up in Warren, MN. She graduated from Northland Community and Technical College in EGF, MN with an AAS degree in Accounting. In 2021 she joined Phil Thompson and Associates in the Warren office as a Payroll Specialist and Bookkeeper. She is currently working on her BS degree at U of M Crookston. She resides in Warren with her husband, Jacob, and their two children.
